Full service
For a bike that has done a hard year, or one that has sat in a shed for five. Everything comes off, gets cleaned, gets measured, and goes back on set up properly.
What is included
Everything in the basic service, done more slowly- Drivetrain removed and degreased, chainrings, cassette and jockey wheels cleaned individually
- Chain, cassette and chainrings measured with a gauge, and we write the numbers down for you
- All cables and outers checked for drag, adjusted, and replaced at parts cost if they are dragging
- Hubs, headset and bottom bracket checked for play, then adjusted or repacked where they can be
- Wheels trued and spoke tension balanced, not just nudged straight
- Hydraulic brakes bled if the bike has them, included at this price
- Frame properly cleaned and inspected with the parts off, which is the only time you can see it
- A longer road test, including a hill and a hard stop
What is not included
None of this is hidden. If your bike needs any of it, we will tell you and price it before we touch anything.
Replacement parts, which on a neglected bike are often the larger half of the bill- Frame alignment, cold setting or repair
- A full wheel rebuild, which is quoted as wheel building
- Suspension fork or rear shock servicing
- E bike motor internals, we check the system, wiring and connectors but we do not open motors
- Paint, powder coating or any refinishing
Turnaround
Two to three working days. It is longer than the basic service because most of it is waiting, degreaser needs time and bearings need to be done once rather than twice.
We only ever have a few full services on the bench at once, so the date we give you is a real one.
You get the measurements
Chain wear, cassette condition and pad thickness all get written on your job sheet. That means next year you can see what actually wore out rather than taking our word for it.
Worth reading first
If the bike has been outside all winter, winter maintenance that actually matters covers what the salt and grit will have done. And if you are weighing up whether to service it at all, when a bike is not worth repairing is an honest answer rather than a sales one.
